My Weight Loss Journey: Week 2

Sorry for the late post. I just didn’t have time yesterday, being on vacation and trying to get settled in our rental house.

What a hard week. I’m so glad it’s over. We were busy preparing for vacation so trying to find time to cook healthy and workout was tough. Here’s a look at how I did:

Stats

Weight: 167.0 lbs.

Arms: 11.75 inches

Chest: 41 inches

Waist: 34 inches

Hips: 43 inches

Thighs: 24 inches

Another 2.4 lbs gone. I don’t know how that happened because I really didn’t do well last week. But, I’m rolling with it. I also lost a fair amount of inches which is really exciting. I lost one whole inch from my waist! That makes me feel great.

Diet

I did really good all week, until Sunday. I was even able to eat really well on the 10 hour trip down to the Outer Banks. I was actually slightly under my Weight Watchers points some days, which was nice because those unused points went into my reserve pile. But, all those reserve points, plus 16 extra, went out the window on Sunday. Because we hadn’t stocked our rental with groceries yet, we ate out for breakfast and lunch. I would have been okay had I had a modest salad for dinner. But, one of our housemates brought homemade meatballs which were phenomenal. I had three, and Italian sausage, pasta, sauce, and garlic bread. Oh and Caesar salad. That night, when I sat down to enter my dinner points, I felt pretty foolish to have gone so overboard. But, those meatballs….

Sunday was day one of vacation. I am really worried about the rest of this week.

Exercise

Exercise? What exercise? I had one good day last week; thirty minutes of HIIT. The rest of the week I managed an after dinner walk with my husband and son most days. But, I don’t consider that a workout. At least it is some form of activity though.

I can use the excuse that I was busy all week packing for vacation. I was truly busy. But, lets be honest; I could have spared 30 minutes. I was just too tired and didn’t feel like it. So I watched a lot of Bones reruns instead. And, somehow, I don’t feel that bad about it. Sometimes you just need a break. The really issue is making sure it’s not a permanent break. Vacation week will be a real test.

Wrap Up

This week was a belly flop. I failed with diet and exercise. But, I’m not going to dwell on it. I still lost weight, somehow. And, I imagine I’ll have many setbacks before I get to the finish line. So, I’m shaking last week off and I am moving on. I am worried about this week while on vacation. I don’t want to have two bad weeks back to back. But, I am also going to be realistic. Chances are I will go over again. It’s just a matter of making sure I don’t go too over. And, getting a good workout in every day. We’ll see…

Stop by next week to see how vacation week went. And, if you missed last week, you can find it here:
